Have you read

your lease properly?

Most people glance over small print, which is fine if everything goes well. However, if a dispute arises, you don’t want to be caught out because you failed to thoroughly read and understand a legal document you signed.

Make sure you:

• Read the lease properly and understand every aspect of it.
• See if there are any expectations by the landlord or management (i.e. pool maintenance).
• Investigate something further or consult your real estate agent if you don’t understand anything on the lease.
• Don’t feel pressured to sign something you don’t understand.
